There are many aspects to throwing successful lingerie parties. To throw a great party you will have to plan all of these elements carefully. Lingerie parties are not like normal parties where you throw on some music, turn down the lights and open the wine. You need to be more subtle and build the fun throughout the evening. Icebreakers are essential to ease the initial tension many women feel when the party first starts.
A great party needs great music. Choose songs that will make a great background track for the bulk of the party. Also choose some great dance tracks for times when the party gets off-track or after the lingerie portion ends.
Lingerie parties can also be organized at homes. The hostess invites her friends and other people who would be interested in such type of parties. She gets in touch with her favorite lingerie retailer who sends a representative with product catalogs, and lingerie samples to her house or the site of the party.
You will also need to know her size before you buy her any lingerie or other clothing. It will be awkward to just come right out and ask her, but you can get this off of a tag or (again) ask her closest friend to find out the sizes for you.
Invite the guests early and start with some general chat as they make their selection. Either you can provide gift bags or they can be encouraged to bring their own. If you plan to do the latter, insure that the store has a good return policy so you can send back any items not purchased by guests. The great thing about doing it this way is that after the party, the guest of honor can exchange items she received for items she did not receive but might rather have.
Door prizes and party favors are a must as well. If you don't have a big budget, sexy t-shirts, small baskets of body lotions and massage oils, or even novelty adult toys make great prizes. You might have several small prizes for the games and at the end of the night raffle off a bigger prize, like one or two matching lingerie sets or a gift certificate for a lingerie shop. If you have a party consultant, there's no reason why you can't participate in the games yourself. On the other hand, if you don't have a consultant, you'll have to run the games yourself.
Look at all aspects of a successful lingerie party. Attend a few as a guest before deciding to throw one yourself and be sure to plan ahead with your particular friends in mind and your lingerie party will be a great success.
